Even though the authorities around the world have acted upon the avalanche of SPAM now distributed via the internet, it seems that the new laws are yet to have a significant impact. The problem is that it can be very difficult (if not impossible) to trace the origins of much of the SPAM communications dropping into your inbox on a daily basis.  Some of these campaigns are organised by highly skilled teams, who often pretend to be emailing you from a recognised company / association, attempting to retrieve your personal details.
